The Internet is a vast online world that many people refer to as an endless array of information and resources readily available to anyone who wants to utilize it. Since its inception, the use of the Internet has seemingly grown at an exponential rate over the years as more people log on for the first time on a daily basis.

As more users become familiar with utilizing the Internet and exploring online resources, more information becomes available to them through the thousands of web sites popping up to serve this growing hunger for entertainment. Among one of the most prevalent ways in which the Internet has made an impact on popular culture is by providing an easy way for individuals to conduct research and tap into an endless amount of information. Below is a list of a couple of ways the Internet has made researching a much easier task than it was decades earlier.

Search Engines

Search engines such as Google are by far the most important element of effective online research. Users can simply surf to their favorite search engine, type in a query related to what they are researching, and have thousands of results appear before them with the click of a button. Through this method, many people resort to performing online research over off-line research.

Real Simple Syndication

Real simple syndication, or as it is commonly referred to; RSS, is a method in which individuals can subscribe to a specific news feed and have updates emailed to them automatically. Through this method, news and information is sent directly to users to use in whatever ways they deem necessary.
